Janmashtami 2024 with Murali Mohan Maharaj
Sri Krishna Janmashtami is the appearance day of Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The birth of Lord Krishna is one of the biggest celebrations of the year, celebrated all over the world.
Krishna means “the all-attractive one”. He is the cause of all causes, the Supreme personality of the entire creation, both material and spiritual, He is the God of all gods, and the Lord within everything and separate from everything at the same time. This is the day devotees celebrate His beautiful pastimes, His presence in their lives, taking time to remember their eternal loving relationship with Him and His presence within all of our hearts.

Life Dedicated to the Absolute - Our Spiritual Manifesto
There are different ways and means of achieving spiritual realization. So in the times preceding the modern age of Kali Yuga (Satya, Treta, Dwapara), people practiced meditation, performed sacrifices, and worshiped deities in temples. But in the modern age of hostility and hypocrisy, none of the above methods (meditation, worship in temples, etc.) brings the desired result. People's lives are short, and they are so engaged in material activities that they do not have time to think about the needs of their eternal souls. They are completely confused by the materialistic concept of life, so even religion, the true purpose of which is to develop a loving relationship with God, they have learned to use exclusively to satisfy their material needs for food, sleep, sex, and defense. Out of great compassion for fallen conditioned souls, the Lord Himself descended into this material world to teach them the principles of bhakti – devotional love ministry. On the day of Brahma during the life of Vaivaswat Manu, who is 27 x 4. 320,000 years old (according to the Vedic calendar, in the year 4,586 from the beginning of the Kali Yuga), came Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the incarnation of Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of God. He started the Sankirtana Movement, also known as the Krishna Consciousness movement, preaching the glories of the Lord around the world for the benefit of all mankind. As stated in the Srimad Bhagavatam (11.5.32.), in the modern age of Kali, reasonable, wise people will worship the Lord by performing SANKIRTANA-YAGYA: Krishna-varnam twishakrishnam sangopangastra-parsadamyajnai sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi su-medhasah
CHAITANYA in translation means "life force". In starting the SANKIRTANA Movement, Lord Chaitanya rejected old and outdated forms of spiritual realization, breathing life into the principles of pure bhakti, and devoted loving service to Krishna.
SANKIRTANA is a yoga for our age that connects with the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of God. SANKIRTANA is meditation. The name of God is not different from the Lord Himself.
SANKIRTANA is a yagya, that is, a sacrifice. Since nothing belongs to man, but everything belongs to God, everything must be paid for. And this payment is made by performing yajna (sacrifice).
SANKIRTANA is a glorification of the Lord, His form, His attributes, and His amazing transcendental games, and it can also be expressed in work and creativity.
SANKIRTANA is communication, life itself in peace, and love with other living beings inhabiting the universe. Even demigods from the higher planets descend to take part in Sri Chaitanya's sankirtana. So, for example, Yamaraj (the god of death) takes a "vacation" for the duration of the sankirtana, and then no one dies at that time.
SANKIRTANA is something that purifies the mirror of the mind and heart, filling it with joy – nectar, which is always craved by a living being.
SANKIRTANA is a special manifestation of the Lord's mercy and the highest religious principle – pure bhakti, love gained through spontaneous devotional service to Him. To better understand the mission and meaning of the name Sankirtana Corporation, we will consider the main thing from the above definitions. First of all, SANKIRTANA means harinama-sankirtana, i.e. congregational chanting of the holy names of Lord Krishna. Thus, a group of Krishna devotees walk down the street and sing loudly: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare, accompanied by playing the mridanga (drum type) and karatal (a type of hand cymbal). "Where there are two or three in my name, there I am with you," says the Lord. By dancing ecstatically, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Himself personally takes part in such a kirtan, attracting the attention of even spiritually undeveloped people, and giving everyone a chance to become Krishna-conscious. The soul is eternally connected with Krishna, so love for Him is latent in everyone's heart. It awakens even in the lower forms of life (animals and plants) when the name of the Lord is sung in a state of pure devotion. An example of this is the wild beasts that inhabit the jungle of Jarikhand. When Sri Chaitanya chanted Hare Krishna as he passed through their thicket, the tigers and doe, forgetting their eternal enmity, echoed the name of God, centuries-old trees accompanied the kirtan, echoing to it. Public singing purifies the atmosphere defiled by materialism. The more devotees participate in sankirtan, the fewer material problems there are. The fewer material problems, the higher the spiritual ecstasy. But even if three or four people sing sankirtan, even two or one, then, in this case, everyone who listens receives a blessing. The distribution of books or prasad (consecrated food) in many ways revives and diversifies sankirtan. Elegant robes, flags, and images of the Lord and his great devotees create attractiveness and a festive mood. For the lord's pleasure, harinama-sankirtan should be performed as often as possible, and then Sri Chaitanya will give his blessing. The Lord will be satisfied if and only if His holy names are sung in every city and village. Another form of sankirtana is the glorification of the Lord in labor, in science, literature, and poetry, in art, theater, music, and cinema. A person can achieve his professionalism and spiritual perfection by using his gifts to glorify the Lord, describing transcendental games and amazing acts of the Lord. Devoting all his activities to the Lord, without attachment to its results, a person also performs a kind of sankirtan. All this is entirely in line with the instructions of the holy teachers, the Acharyas of the Brahma-madhva-gaudiya sampradaya. Of course, someone who is deprived of the spirit of sankirtana will try to avoid this name in his vocabulary and often criticize its adherents. However, by calling our corporation "Sankirtana" we have no other purpose than to preach the mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Our only desire is to serve and please the Lord and His pure devotees. Many people take the liberty of representing the Lord, but at the same time avoid participating in sankirtan – such a representation will not be effective, because it is materialistic. We are not responsible for their actions. As a tree is recognized by its fruit, so a person is recognized by his works, by his practical participation in the mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's sankirtana. Sankirtana is the only process that can save a person from imitation and Sahajiism, providing an excellent opportunity for communication with the Lord and cooperation. Therefore, we call on everyone who has a body, mind, speech, or money to take part in the activities of the World Sankirtana Corporation of Lord Chaitanya.
Deity Worship: Puja and Archana
A puja is a religious ceremony performed in temples or in homes that involves worship through the use of a sacred image. At its most basic level of understanding, puja is a symbolic means of communication, a way to reach out to higher powers. There are many ways that we can reach out to divinity: through prayer, meditation, acts of charity, and so forth, but one of the most important and common means is through ritual. Ritual is the foundation of worship and all religions employ rituals as a means to contact the Divine.
Pujas are performed both in temples (mandirs) and in private homes. In temples, they are usually associated with the daily worship of the temple’s sacred images and are performed only by priests. They are also performed on special festival days or upon request of individuals by temple priests. In homes, pujas are performed for special occasions such as anniversaries, graduations, the birth of children, memorial days, or simply for general prosperity and peace within the family. In this case, the family members themselves perform the puja under the guidance of a priest. Perhaps the most important part of puja is the final blessing by the priest and the distribution of prasad at the end. The purpose of a puja is to evoke the presence of a Deity and then to receive the blessing of that Deity. One of the jobs of the priest is to give these blessings. Prasada is the blessed food that has been offered to the Deity during the puja. This food is then offered to all those who have attended the puja. Prasada is the blessing of the Deity.
Importance of Yajna
Vedic Yagya connects an individual with the almighty god.
It is a means to please and honor the deities for their goodness to humanity.
The sound released from the chants and the mantras is mentally and spiritually very relaxing.
Yajna purifies the mind, body, soul, and all-around atmosphere.
Clears out all the negativity from one’s life.
The atmosphere around the yagna site becomes fresh and healthy as medicinal herbs smoke kill all the disease germs.
Smokes coming out of the Agni Kund act as a disinfectant and antibiotic.
It offers blessings and boons from deities.
To have a peaceful and happy afterlife.
Yajna reduces anger and hatred and infuses one with love, calmness, and generosity.
To reduce all the sufferings and clear out the sins.
